Winter of Miguel Angel Asturias
Winter
Kneeling between wind, footprint and greyhound
courses behind you, clear presence
driven by the flash of a star
meaning in effect until your absence.
Attraversasti, love, selfishness
that'll let you tear of flint
overlapping abyss after abyss,
of frost in my solitude. The big spider
row of rain water and wind
leste cobwebs.
What ever will become tomorrow?
Maybe a shatterproof glass, certainly
similar to my eyes now serene
after crying all that I lost.
(Miguel Angel Asturias, guatamalteco poet died in Madrid in 1974)
