The new Bill Gelmini on University is the latest (and probably final) stage of a slow and gradual process of dismantling the Italian public university system, which started ten years ago, the so-called Bologna Process (1999 ) and diligently carried out by the governments of the center-right and center, succeeded to the leadership of the country. As required by the student movement in the aftermath of the law 133/08 , the first of the painful effects of the reform, which two years ago has devastated the Italian university, is the significant increase in taxes that affects students, already harassed from the effects of global crisis.
As usual, the university rectors and senior management will demonstrate diligent executors of government plans and instead of protesting against the cuts, they prefer to scrape the bottom of the barrel by extorting even the last remaining pocket change to students.
Gone are the days of the proclamation of our incendiary Rector when threatened to resign in the face of financial cuts, 2008, still fresh from the parliament, "forgetting" that he had joined a few months before the Association Aquis : a pressure group which called specifically a re-distribution of funds, which rewards its virtuosity budget.
Today, the shot of the chopper descends further FFO on the universities, the mild-mannered John, together with his faithful Board of Directors, finds nothing better than raising taxes . All this despite the extra funds that Unical (along with other universities Aquis) received by the Law 1 / 09 .
- Where did the money that our University has earned thanks to Aquis?
- How come there are no funds to pay for researchers, but those were found to increase the allowances of university leadership?
- Why have increased student fees?
- Is there a connection between these things?
This logic is simple: business and everything is cheap to buy a public good, one must first send him into bankruptcy and then watering down to a group of entrepreneurs "brave." We
awareness that the global crisis the economic system, created by banks and companies would have to make a radical change. However, we believe that refinancing bankers and speculators at the expense of the welfare state, not a radical change but rather a cynical nell'asservimento continue to lobby the government economic. We
conscious of the functional logic of this draft (d) higher education, created by many hands, which is taking shape before our eyes.
Faced with the prospects outlined by the elite universities, diligent executors of government directives, our answers will not be the last to pay the interest of the privileged classes.
Privatisation and cuts are not virtuous and saving the recipe for Italian universities, institutions like the media propaganda would have us believe. Are yet another excuse to turn students into gear unaware of the assembly .
STUDENTS DO NOT PAY YOUR CRISIS!
